We had a great afternoon for our school's 5th birthday. The weather was splendid and everyone seemed to be in high spirits. Apart from being able to get to know each other, we had a chance to welcome three native speakers to our party. We were enriched by their American, Canadian and South African English and culture.
Our special treat was presented by Elisabeth and Theres. They recited two poems written by Maya Angelou: "I know why the Caged Bird Sings" and "Phenomenal Woman," one of their recent class projects.
Then we heard a lovely story about "Charlotte the Chicken" written by Irene Rechsteiner, an incredibly creative and talented student. She shared with us her story accompanied by her own illustrations. What a beautiful surprise!
Afterwards, the time was ours to socialise and joke and taste some treats provided by the Galante family.
Many thanks to "Reber" bakers for their delicious cake for our anniversary. Weren't they creative and inspired?!
When the party was over, my students and friends left for their homes and the things were cleared, a feeling of gratitude spread over my whole body.
I am truly blessed to know so many wonderful people who keep inspiring me day after day.
I admire their desire to learn and keep being enlightened.
