   Hi there, I’m Yana

I love languages. I believe every language we speak enriches our soul. Learning a new language makes our minds beautiful and inquisitive, helps us to stay motivated and even …young! It keeps our brain fast and nimble, widens our horizons and opens doors to many opportunities.

My philosophy

I see learning as a creative and very active process. A new language should be welcomed to your daily life. Learning is meant to bring you joy!

Lots of communication and meaningful use of language are absolutely necessary to guarantee your success.

Hi there!

Work Experience

My first career steps back in Russia were teaching English to kindergarten children and assisting the International Language Program (ILP; www.ilp.org) in my hometown.  I also worked as a tour guide, counsellor, and interpreter on the Volga River for Mark Stoddard’s International Cruise Company.

While in America, I taught English in ELC (English Language Centre) in Provo to students from different cultural backgrounds. At the same time, I worked as a language expert with curriculum development for both Russian and English Technology assisted Language Learning Programs in the Provo MTC (one of the biggest international language training centers in the USA).

Upon graduation from BYU, I moved to Switzerland. From 2000 until 2011 my teaching experience was enriched by working at JE&I Sprachschule in Schaffhausen, where I taught both English and Russian at various levels. In addition to this, I did a year of substituting for a Russian teacher at KV-Schule.

In 2011, I founded my private language school Sprachatelier Galante in Langwiesen.
